The Rogers plant features advanced mechanical recycling and pelletizing capabilities, capable of processing both high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films. It’s projected to recycle about 90 million pounds of plastic waste annually, boosting the local economy with around 200 new jobs.

Andrew Pieterse, CEO of Myplas USA, shared his enthusiasm about this milestone, highlighting the importance of this initiative in realizing the company’s vision and its contribution to the industry. In the US, the usage of flexible films is immense, with only 5% currently recycled, pointing to a significant opportunity for environmental impact.

Nicholas Kolesch from the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) also emphasized the potential for resource recovery in the plastic value chain, particularly in managing film and flexible plastic waste.

This initiative aligns with global efforts to mitigate the environmental impact of plastics. Integrating advanced recycling technologies and fostering collaborative partnerships, Myplas is at the forefront of promoting a circular economy and sustainable waste management practices.

The Minnesota plant is a testament to Myplas’ commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, setting an example for the industry in managing plastic waste challenges through collaborative efforts.”
