Principio di funzionamento
1. Feeding and Crushing
The EPS foam melting machine begins by manually or automatically feeding waste foam, such as packaging materials or insulation. Inside the machine, a dual-shaft crushing system breaks down the foam into smaller, manageable pieces, which are then directed to the heating section.
2. Heating and Melting
- The crushed foam pieces are transported into a high-temperature heating barrel.
- A rotating screw moves the foam through the barrel, where it melts under controlled heat, effectively densifying the EPS foam by up to 90:1 in volume.
3. Extrusion
- As the foam melts, it is extruded in a dense, solid form, often called “ingots” or “blocks,” which are much easier to handle, transport, and store.
- These dense blocks are often sold for further recycling, where they can be converted into new EPS products or plastic materials.
4. Temperature Control
The machine includes an automatic temperature control system that maintains optimal melting conditions, ensuring efficient and uniform melting without damaging the foam’s recyclable qualities.
5. Discharge and Collection
Once densified, the blocks are discharged, ready for collection. This final product saves up to 90% of storage space, which is crucial for facilities with large volumes of EPS waste.
